Chicago Urban League Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation

The Chicago Urban League Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation provides entrepreneurs from underrepresented groups with the opportunity to establish, grow and grow their businesses. Rising Tide Capital's model serves as the basis for this non-profit's operation; President Obama has acknowledged their impact on lives and revitalizing areas by establishing its Community Business Academy, with 94% of the graduates go on to establish new jobs and businesses following their graduation from the program.

Sunshine Enterprises also provides support local entrepreneurs with UChicago Local. This partnership with UChicago Medicine and the University permits the realignment of the procurement department in order to use greater local businesses that provide competition-based bids. Incubatoredu

INCubatoredu gives students an opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship through the creation of their own startup. Each class is supported by a coach or mentor to help students navigate the course and help with projects related to washable foot insoles and social apps. students have ample opportunities to test out ideas while using lean business practices.

Students will learn to improve their ideas as they progress throughout the curriculum. It includes market research, idea and customer exploratory exercises, building prototypes and pitches. This helps to develop cooperation, collaboration, and problem-solving capabilities, as well as teaching students to adapt quickly to changing conditions.

Each year, each team participates at the INCubatoredu National Pitch to compete for seed funding for their startup companies. This event provides teams with valuable networking experiences for investors, as well as expert advice from business professionals This event is known for its Shark Tank-style pitch competitions.
